How it works
- Pick your starting point. Already have the stitch count from your digitizer? Use it. No file yet? Enter the design's width, height, and how densely it's filled, and the tool estimates the stitches.
- Set your runs. One run is one machine pass. If you have a 4-head machine and need 20 pieces, that's 5 runs.
- Calculate. You get total minutes plus an hours:minutes readout.
The estimate uses 600 stitches per minute as a standard machine rate and adds a 2-minute pause per 10,000 stitches for thread breaks. It's a deliberately conservative ballpark to help you schedule, not a promise your machine will keep.

How does it estimate stitches without a digitized file?
Width times height times coverage times 1,000 stitches per square inch, a common industry rule of thumb for planning before the file exists.
What machine speed does the estimate assume?
600 stitches per minute, plus a 2 minute pause for every 10,000 stitches to cover thread breaks. It is deliberately conservative so you can schedule around it.
What counts as a run?
One pass of the machine. A 4-head machine sewing 20 pieces needs 5 runs.
